Introduction
Inpyo Jeon is a Korean writer who mainly works on story-driven projects in illustrated formats such as American comics
and Japanese manga.
After receiving a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University of Science and
Technology, he worked as a developer until his mid-30s. While working as a senior developer, he also took on book translation.
It was during this time that the audacious thought, “How hard could it be?” crossed his mind, leading him to start writing in
earnest. By the time he realized just how hard it was, he had already thrown his resignation letter in his boss's face and
stormed out to become a full-time writer.
Jeon broke into the comics industry in 2021 with Muninn, a 10-page short story published in the
Batman: The World anthology released by DC Comics for Batman Day. He later contributed Copycat, another short
story set in the same universe, to Joker: The World, and co-created the creator-owned series Vermilion with
artist Danny Kim. In 2025, he wrote Hotel Bethesda, an urban fantasy comic starring YDG, the actor and musician best
known for his role in Squid Game.
Once a highly accomplished programmer at a major corporation—renowned for single-handedly winning a team hackathon—he now ekes
out a modest living writing stories in a small back room.
